The Walden Grove Dance Program is a story of an amazing group of kids who were given the tiniest space that was never meant to be a dance room, and turned it into one of the most magical places on campus.

Walden Grove High School opened in 2011 with a population of just over 400 students.  Sixty of those students accidentally signed up for the course or did not want to take PE.  What they did not realize is they were about to be part of a bigger foundation and picture. The first year in existence there were only 3 dance courses offered and the rest were drama.  By the end of the first year there was not enough repertoire to put on a dance showcase, so the fine arts department put a night together for all the groups to perform.  The dance program was represented with three simple, two minute routines.

In 2012, the program grew to five courses and The PAC dance team began to take a more serious turn as a performing arts team.  The program continued to gain momentum and participated in another Fine Arts Showcase, hoping to eventually host their own.  In the 2013/14 school year, the program grew again into six sections, putting Ms. Lopez at a 6/5ths position (no planning period) while The PAC began to win competitions.  Finally, in 2014, the program was big enough to host its very own Dance Showcase.   The opening night was completely sold out and to date became one of the biggest high school productions in the District.

The last three years the Walden Grove Dance Program has had to move to two nights of sold out shows.  The program has a waiting list to get in, and continues to build a culture of positivity, love, grace, and respect through the medium of dance.
